چکیده
A high-entropy dual-phase AlTiVCoNi alloy with a low density of ∼6.24 g cm−3 is developed, and it consists hierarchical structure, including an ordered L21 phase, disordered body-centered-cubic (BCC) solid-solution nano-sized precipitates embedded in the BCC phase. It found that this new shows phase stability after heat treatment at 1200°C for 24 h, compressive yield strength annealed approximately equal to as-cast condition, ∼1.6 GPa. This displays exceptional room temperature 600°C, specific strengths ∼261 ∼210 MPa g−1 cm3, respectively. The semi-coherent interface phases makes stable regulates work-hardening mechanism. Local dynamic-recrystallization behavior grain evolution are observed as-prepared during compression 800 1000°C, which results high-temperature softening. muti-phase structure would provide paradigm development next-generation low-density, structural materials applications.

A low-cost hierarchical nanostructured beta-titanium alloy with high strength
Lightweighting of automobiles by use of novel low-cost, high strength-to-weight ratio structural materials can reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and in turn CO2 emission. Working towards this goal we achieved high strength in a low cost β-titanium alloy, Ti-1Al-8V-5Fe (Ti185), by hierarchical nanostructure consisting of homogenous distribution of micron-scale and nanoscale α-phase precipit...
متن کاملExceptional high fatigue strength in Cu-15at.%Al alloy with moderate grain size
It is commonly proposed that the fatigue strength can be enhanced by increasing the tensile strength, but this conclusion needs to be reconsidered according to our study. Here a recrystallized α-Cu-15at.%Al alloy with moderate grain size of 0.62 μm was fabricated by cold rolling and annealing, and this alloy achieved exceptional high fatigue strength of 280 MPa at 10(7) cycles. This value is mu...
متن کاملSearching for Next Single-Phase High-Entropy Alloy Compositions
There has been considerable technological interest in high-entropy alloys (HEAs) since the initial publications on the topic appeared in 2004. However, only several of the alloys investigated are truly single-phase solid solution compositions. These include the FCC alloys CoCrFeNi and CoCrFeMnNi based on 3d transition metals elements and BCC alloys NbMoTaW, NbMoTaVW, and HfNbTaTiZr based on ref...

متن کاملEstimation of Atmospheric Corrosion of High-Strength, Low-Alloy Steels
This data analysis was undertaken to investigate the weatherability of steels whose compositions do not fall in the range of ASTM Standard G101, Estimating the Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance of Low-Alloy Steels (1). This standard was developed to estimate the corrosion resistance of low-alloy weathering steels from chemical composition data and from actual atmospheric exposure tests. This sta...
